The forty millimeter claw tool fits into a claw tool holder, and it scrapes the sandstone surface ready for finishing with a flat chisel. The claw tool, also known as a scutch tool, is driven with a nylon mallet. The nylon mallet is relatively soft and elastic compared to a steel hammer, and it allows the claw tool to scrape instead of ‘plucking’ or tearing chunks out of the surface.
